ABOUT THE ARTIST
Bee Sackett was a Coral Gables and Key West artist who exhibited extensively in South Florida through the mid-century and later. This included group shows at Coconut Gove, Vizcaya, Beaux Arts and Grove Hpouse. She also had one-artist shows at Old School House Gallery, Burdine’s Art Cove, Wometco Theatres, and Coral Gables Library. She studied art under John Kinkenberg and William Charles at the University of Miami. Her main mediums were enamels and acrylics and are her original technical concepts. Although conversant with waters and oils, she prefered the aforementioned mediums because of the latitude of design and texture they allowed.
