These are a pair of splendid carved, turned, and dowel-jointed Gothic revival chairs which would make a statement in any home. They are dated 1690 and have a carved and intertwined “MS” monogram with a crown on the backrests and what seems like an “AC” inscribed makers marks on the backs. We believe these are maple with fiddle back grain and stained mahogany seats and possibly mahogany or even maple with a more open grain on the chair backs. These chairs really show good design and craftsmanship.
