This is a 1924 Danish landscape oil painting by Vilhelm Jensen (1853-1930), it measures approximately 19″(w) x 17″(h) framed and is in good condition with only minor gilding loss to the frame. Jensen, who also went by Vilhelm Peder Jensen and Jensen-Klint, was a Danish architect, designer, painter and architectural theorist, best known for designing Grundtvig’s Church in Copenhagen, generally considered to be one of the most important Danish architectural works of the time. Its Expressionist style relies heavily on Scandinavian brick Gothic traditions. A superb little painting showing an atmospheric and expressive Danish landscape scene under a vibrant sky. The painting is signed and dated lower right.
